Having Fun Above The Ground: Above Ground Pool
Swimming pools have been a personal favorite even in the beginning of time. It is a device that people use in bathing or just for recreation purposes. There are different kinds. The newest addition to the set is the above ground style.
Above ground pool is the cheapest kind of pool there is. It is easy to assemble and it won’t cost that greatly.
Here is the advantages of above ground:
- It is not permanent. This means that the owner can easily dismantle the pool and he or she may move it on another location. There are some owners who are not satisfied of the location of the pool. By this convenience, the pool can be stirred from one place to another.
- Most above ground pools are made from a material called as prefabricated kits. It contains a manual on how to build the pool that even an nonprofessional can do. The procedure is very easy to predate. Just simply read the instructions carefully and follow the step by step process. But in case the pool owner has experienced a malfunction or if there is a part that seems puzzling to do, the pool owner may call a professional to install the pool properly.
But if the he/she is determined to build the pool this is the step by step process:
1. Level the ground to form a flat building surface. By doing this, the pool would easily fit the space allotted.
2. Set up the perimeter track, this would serve as a springboard for the outer wall.
3. Disperse sand in the pool area and after wards, lay the plumbing of the pool.
4. Secure the vinyl liners over the pool walls.
5. Fill it up with water, smooth the liner and fasten it in place.
See how easy it is done? Anyone in the family can do it. As always, in every good thing, there is also a bad side to it.
The disadvantages of having an above ground style:
- It less durable compared to other kinds. Due to the fact that above ground pools are inexpensive, their quality is not considered superb.
- It’s not attractive compared to the permanent pools installed to the ground. This type of pool is simple and not extravagant enough like the fiberglass pools.
An above ground pool is just one of the variants to choose from the many kinds. There are pros and cons to this contraption. But the matter of the fact is, pool owners who are on a tight budget can easily have their own pool. It is effortless to install and it can be taken down that easily.
The side effect would be that it not sturdy to last a lifetime. Since it is bargain-priced, the quality of it is not dependable. If the owner wishes to have a better pool, he or she should invest greatly in constructing other types of pools.

Nothing really beats the natural. Natural is effortless beauty and elegance and it never ceases to amaze. Natural pools have wowed and stolen the hearts of millions and millions of pool owners all over the world. Think about it, you enjoying Mother Nature in the comfort of your own home – dwelling with trees, plants and flowers. We were created for such a stunning world anyway. And not to mention, ZERO CHEMICAL INPUTS. Yup, ZERO CHEMICAL INPUTS. Imagine the money that you can save on these harmful chemicals! Who wouldn’t love that right?
But what if you are already an established pool owner? With your chlorinated or brominated pool, what possibly could you do to make the shift? Is it even possible to under go such a shift? Before we could continue to answer the query, it is crucial to first be educated with what a natural pool really is. So, what’s up with natural pools?
A natural pool can be considered as somewhat, an extension of the sea or any type of body of water. Present in nature are thousands and even millions of natural pools. These pools are gulfs and ponds. They embody and envelop within themselves the very essence of the cycle or life. Present within or beside them are numerous of eye-catching flowers, lotuses, plants and animals. What a scene right? If it were a painting (of course it is more appealing in a personal view) it would be an amazing painting indeed! Such beauty, such simplicity… What could, in actuality, thump that right?
So you might be thinking: “Yup, I absolutely agree. These pools are such a beauty but really, how do they get cleaned?” Well, that’s a great question. As said before, a natural pool embodies and envelops within them the very essence of life. So you have got to think about the innate. The answer is circulation. Yes, circulations clear out any dirt and impurity in it. The water flows out of their boundaries and tend to get recycled as the circulation goes on. Only GOD can understand. He made it. And ain’t it just pure genius?
Well as you might have already figured it out yourself, WE ARE NOT GOD. So, with that said, what can we do to obtain a natural pool?
The first thing to do is to talk to your contractor. He or she will execute it. A natural pool can be man made so you can definitely make your way around it with your contractor. The shift starts here.
Next is to keep in mind that going natural means laying off of the chemicals. Luckily there is sphagnum moss. Sphagnum moss is a carnivorous plant that can eat away the entire microorganism family in your pool. They are even more effective that our average bromine and chlorine. A lot of pool products in the market have developed their substances to contain sphagnum moss and other natural agents that will breakdown any microbial build up.
The world is going greener and greener by the day. Why don’t you join in and turn that chemical based pool of yours into a natural one? And that’s the shifting scheme.

Most mechanical equipments and items that you can get from your favourite pool shop will require regular and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
Pool shop personnel and staff are the best persons to ask advice from. However, they are well-equipped to determine different factors such as the quality and hardness of your pool water as well as the condition and atmosphere in your location. These factors are the things that will help them before they could recommend the type of maintenance needed for the upkeep of your swimming pool as well as the frequency and schedule for maintenance.
Commercial and Residential Electric Water Heaters need regular checking of the following:
1. Electrical wirings and terminal lugs for loose connection and proper grounding
2. Thermostat and/or heating element
3. Anode rod monitoring
4. Check pipe lines for leakage
5. Draining and removal of calcium deposits
Both commercial and residential gas water heater need regular checking for the following:
6. Gas line, gas valve, pilot assembly and electronic module
7. Cleaning of burner
8. Sacrificial anode rode checking
9. Over-all cleaning
10. Heat Pump Water Heaters has to be regularly checked for:
11. Electrical wiring and supply
12. Wire size, over voltage setting as well as the under voltage setting
13. Pressure washing and cleaning of evaporator
14. Compressor checking
15. Actual reading of temperature, voltage and amperes
16. Circulating pump checking
17. Evaporator cleaning
18. Checking the high and low side of refrigerant pressure
19. Y-strainer checking and cleaning
20. Flow switch and gate valves checking as well as inlet and outlet temperature difference
If you are using solar panel water heaters, regular check-up is needed for the collector panel for cleaning and maintenance as well as air pressure inspection for your swimming pool’s diaphragm pressure tanks. These preventive maintenance packages do not include the cost of whatever parts that needs replacement. Deliming services in case your pool is found to have excessive calcium deposits that are caused by hard water conditions in your water storage heater is also separately priced.
There are many ways to maintain and keep your swimming pool inviting and enjoyable. Apart from making sure that the equipments used to help maintain your pool, you should also consider making your pool area attractive and clean. For swimming pool landscaping, you may choose to use stone tiles like sandstone, bluestone, marble, travertine or even granite tiles. They are a bit expensive but you will be very pleased with the results. Wooden decks are also very popular for residential pool landscaping.
Some people prefer concrete as they are cost efficient since you need to have coping tiles installed at the edges of your swimming pool. Coping tiles provide a soft edge to your pool. You also have to consider the overall theme of your home in order to ensure that your pool landscaping and decoration ideas will complement your house.
Ask your pool shop for the best selection of pool equipments and accessories. Do not forget to buy pool toys that your kids would love to have such as colourful and funky shaped floaters, swim rings and beach balls. Playing water games with the whole family is great for family bonding times.

How do I, as a home owner, prevent repairs to my spa or hot tub heater? What can I do to minimize the risk of repair to my spa or hot tub heater? These are two very common questions that we hear from home owners.
Here are a few tips that have helped many customers
Spa water chemistry.
The number one killer of spa heaters is low pH. If you leave your spa water, for an extended period of time, with low pH (under 7.0) you will have problem with your spa heater, guaranteed. When the pH in the water becomes to acid, the acid starts to eat away on the metal heating element, eventually resulting in heater failure.
The spa or hot tub water chemistry has to be maintained for a spa to work properly. There is no shortcut here. And, there is no maintenance “free” spa. They do not exist.
Heating terminals
Another reason for heating element failure is the heating terminals. This is the point on the heating element that attaches to the wires from the control system. As the spa is vibrating mechanical device, the nut that tightens the heating wires to the control system can come loose after a few years. That manifests typically as burn back on either the control system connections or the heater connections. With time, the additional heat that is created by these connections are getting worse. The heat then travels along the wires to the printed circuit board. This results in burn backs on the circuit board traces and the failure of control relays and/or contactors
The way to prevent this is to tighten the heater connections at least once per year and to monitor these connections once per month.
Cracked Heating Terminals
Still another problem that could have been prevented it the cracked heating terminal resin. Frequently during the installation of the heating element the resin surrounding the heating terminals are cracked. This results in that over a long period of time, moisture from the inside of the heater starts to sip up onto the heating terminals, causing the GFCI to trip. The only remedy in this scenario is to replace the heating element.
Preventative Maintenance Program.
A preventative maintenance program monitors these situations and greatly reduces the chance of costly spa heater repairs. Contact us for further details.

When it comes to inground swimming natatoriums – you make one the first time; the only time. There are various considerations before installing an inground pool. Unlike the above ground swimming natatoriums, these are created by digging up the ground. So, firstly, you must have enough space within your premises to put in such a construction. Secondly, you should consider the area where you want to have a swimming pool. It is best to create such an inground pool in the backyard, but, different people have different considerations. Let us discuss about the factors that you should work up in your mind before starting to dig for an inground pool…
Picking up the right pool
It is very important as these days there are various materials that go into the making of these items. You can choose from concrete, vinyl or fiber-glass ones. However, if you intent to build one customized according to the size and shape you desire, concrete ones are the best. Concrete ones are also sometimes called Gunite or Shotcrete natatoriums.
However, a concrete one is not easy to install and require quite a long time to finish. If you are unwilling to go with it, there are also other options like vinyl or fiberglass ones. A vinyl liner inground pool comes in a wide variety of designs and patterns. You can also find different colored ones in the market these days. Installation of these natatoriums is easier than the concrete ones and is also a cheaper option. If you prefer to move on to fiber-glass inground natatoriums, you will find that these are even more economical as well as convenient. But, if you want to vouch for durability, you should go for concrete ones.
Placing the pool
Just like any other home renovation, installations of swimming natatoriums are also subject to the zoning and building regulations. Therefore, you must obtain the requisite approvals before starting the project. You must make sure that the pool is installed at a considerable distance from the following: boundary of your property, wells, septic tanks, sewer lines, and wetlands. Allow sunlight – it is important to allow loads of sunlight into the swimming pool. It naturally kills bacteria and other pathogens from the pool water. It will also help in keeping the pool water warm during winter months. Make arrangements for the circulation of water to your inground pool.
It is a hard task to accomplish the installation of such a pool alone. You need to take help from contractors like Bluemountainpools.com. This service provider for installation of an inground pool is based in Portland, Oregon, but, you can contact it through their website on the Internet.

With all of the demands of our fast-paced lives, having a place to relax and ease the tension in your body can be a necessity. One great way to find relaxation is through the use of a swim spa. While there are many gyms and clubs that offer swim spa services, it can also be very nice to own your very own swim spa and use it at your own leisure. Swim spas can have just a pool, or just a hot tub, or in some cases both. There are advantages and disadvantages to having both of these areas and they will be discussed.
The advantages of having separate swimming and hot tub areas in your swim spa are many. One of the most distinct is that you will be able to maintain different temperatures in each area of the spa, and this makes it an ideal place for multiple activities. Another great advantage of having them separated is that the designers of the spa will be able to keep the benches and the seats out of the way of the swimmers. This helps with functionality as well as aesthetics. Secondly, if you have a large family, then you can each enjoy different parts of the spa at the same time. Maybe Mom and Dad want to relax in the hot tub while the kids enjoy the pool or vice versa. This allows you to have a lot of versatility, and also gives you the chance to enjoy added company in the same swim spa.
Adding onto the advantages of separate pools and hot tubs, you could theoretically have a really good workout in the swimming pool by either doing laps or aerobics, and then end the workout by jumping in the hot tub at a warmer temperature and letting your muscles relax. You wouldn’t need to wait for the temperature to adjust because they are separated. Last of all, you can save on your electric bills if you elect to only heat the hot tub and not the pool as well. Also, to have to heat up both areas water at the same time can be extremely expensive.
When looking to get a swim spa, make sure that you find some good manufacturers and also a dependable company to handle the actual installation. You will want to make sure that you create a relaxing environment for all to enjoy, while doing it at an affordable price.

For most of us, the sauna is a luxury we only get to experience when staying at a nice hotel or if you are willing to shell out a little extra for an expensive gym membership. However, if a sauna is something you enjoy, there are in home sauna options, some complete with a shower as well, that are relatively affordable and accessible.
Saunas operate with dry heat, in contrast to a steam room. Because of the dry air, saunas can safely be used at temperature up to 176 degrees Fahrenheit. A key element in the success of a sauna is the material it is made from. Logically, metal or plastic would not work in such hot conditions, while cedar and spruce wood remain cool enough to touch and sit on even in extreme heat. Plus, it emits a lovely smell.
The heating element of a sauna can come from different sources. Traditional saunas were heated by fire, but for most people that just causes smoke and problems. More likely, you will come across saunas with small stoves that use electric, gas or wood to heat a small pile of rocks. By pouring some water onto the hot rocks you create steam which heats up the sauna.
On the other hand, many of the saunas appropriate for using at home use far infrared to heat the inside. Far infrared is a radiation ray which directly heats a person inside the sauna. Unlike with sunshine, far infrared does not contain UV rays, therefore occupants never have to worry about sunburns. Far infrared rays simply heat the body and causes sweating, the ultimate goal of the sauna experience.
The touted benefits of sweating by devoted sauna users revolve around body toxins being released through sweat glands. According to an article on howstuffworks.com, it is possible to sweat out more than 4 cups of sweat in a 15 minute sauna stay. It is important to stay hydrated if using a sauna, because much of the body’s water is released through sweating. Sweating is proven to release some toxins, although a minimal amount compared with other forms of excretion. Saunas are also said to improve blood circulation, weight loss, skin cleansing, body relaxation and mind relaxation. Also, the heat can relax muscle soreness and joint pains.
Saunas for the home are also available with a variety of add-ons and conveniences. This includes sauna/shower combinations, thermometers, computer control panels and ventilators. A variety of sizes and shapes are also available including full saunas, half saunas and saunas that can hold more than one occupant.
There are many people who are believers in the total package benefits of saunas and most people cannot argue with the idea that saunas are a great way to relax, meditate or simply calm down after a long day.

I certainly can understand you wanting to buy a hot tub. There is nothing more relaxing than to chill out in your hot tub of an evening. So this blog post will go over what you need to consider before you choose which one you are going to purchase.
Where to put it
Location is very important. You want somewhere that is private but easily accessible. A sturdy deck or by an existing swimming pool are great places. Also make sure that there isn’t many tree’s around otherwise you’ll forever be scooping out leaves from your spa tub.
Because they can become very heavy with all that water you also need to make sure that the place you are putting it can handle the load.
Size
If it is just going to be you and your partner using in then you only need a small hot tub however if you entertain a lot then you’ll need something bigger. A good rule of thumb is to multiply 75 gallons (284 litres) of water per person.
Price
2 person spas often start at around $4,000 and bigger spa’s can reach up to $10,000 and more. You’ll need to take into account not only the cost of it but also the running costs. If you are able to insulate your spa you’ll be able to save some money from the operating costs.
You many also need to pay for extras such as delivery and installation to get the tub to your home. And don’t forget the electrical and plumbing costs to get it set up.
Type
Acrylic, Fiberglass, Redwood? Obviously this can come down to personal preference but make sure you consider things like cleaning. Redwood, while beautiful, requires a lot of cleaning and upkeep whereas acrylic hot tubs are very easy to take care of but don’t have the same aesthetic appeal. You can even get small portable hot tubs made of vinyl for under $3,000.

Inflatable water toys will enhance any pool. From inflatable to permanent pools, they provide hours of enjoyment for the whole family. You can purchase these water toys online, or by visiting the nearest sporting goods store. They can also be found at hobby stores, with extensive aquatic selection. Some toys include rafts, rubber ducks and even safety vests. As flotation devices, they truly protect kids and loved ones. While prices do range, you can pick up some wonderful deals. Simply look for pool stores with overstocked inventory. Others also offer substantial savings and discounts. These promotional rates are usually offered during the colder months.
Inflatable water toys can also assist in swimming. They can effectively teach young ones how to swim, while keeping them afloat. Like other pool toys, these toys are designed to last. They feature several themes, including sports, aquatic scenes and even comic book characters. With these toys, also comes a sense of responsibility. You can teach your children not to puncture the toys. This will secure your investment, while allowing your family to really enjoy themselves. Most inflatable pool toys require manual assistance. This includes air levels and desired floating capacities. Larger toys may require air pumps. This can be included with the toy or purchased separately.
When pumping up an inflatable water toy, always keep the air pump away from kids. This will prevent any unnecessary accidents or mishaps. When finished, simply keep it away until further use. You can now place the toys into the water. They will immediately float, so place your child in the toy carefully. Some toys are like hula-hoops, with built in circles. Others have no circles, and are simply flotation devices. No matter the toy, a parent should always be close. Parental supervision is always an important factor. This prevents drowning and other water based accidents. The toy should also be safe enough to deflate when not utilized.
With any inflatable water toy, always checks it quality. Nearly all pool toys must pass stringent tests. These are conducted by the manufacturer, or by third parties. These parties specialize in safety, ensuring all toys and components are in place. You can also check its safety qualities online. Simply input its brand name, model number, or other pertinent information. You should be able to receive safety information in no time. If all checks out, you and your family are ready to enjoy the summer!
Inflatable water toys present a safe and affordable way for you and your kids to have fun in the water. They’re second in fun only to an inflatable water slide.

There is an old saying that there is always a time for everything. There is a time to get immerse yourself in work. And there is also a time where you need to take a little break when work becomes too much of a burden.

Worst, too much stress from work can easily lead to nervous breakdown. Now, you would not want both. So you really need to take some time off work and go some place where you will feel relaxed. Most probably, that place would be a distant beach house or a property located in the countryside.

If you have the resources, installing an inground jetted tub in your extra property is perhaps your best choice.

Quality concrete inground hot water jetted tubs may cost you between $4,000 to about $10,000. On the other hand, standard above-ground ones may cost $3,000 more or less.
